The town of Bedford was incorporated in 1730 as Narragansett Number 5 for the benefit of soldiers who fought against the Narragansett Indian in Rhode Island. It was regranted as Souhegan East, then as Bedford in 1750. The town was named for Lord John Russell, fourth Duke of Bedford, a close friend of Governor Benning Wentworth. Today, Bedford is a sought residential community with easy access to the city of Manchester, Route 3 and Interstate 93. There are approximately 20,000 residents. Distinctive subdivisions combine with historic antique colonials to create a beautiful country ambiance.

Salem is the "gateway" to New Hampshire with an excellent location just over the Massachusetts border. This community of almost 30,000 people has both suburban and more rural neighborhoods. Excellent access to Interstate 93 make for easy commuting to Boston or Route 128.

Pelham is an attractive community featuring quiet streets and subdivisions with a typical New England flavor. The town has seen many changes and has become more progressive as more new-comers move here. One reason for Pelham's popularity is this town's great location right on the Massachusetts’s border. It has an ideal location for commuting to Nashua, Boston, Route 3, I-93 and Route 128.

A blend of New England heritage and modern outlook are combined in the town of Derry. This community of over 30,000 people has a convenient location just off interstate 93. The decade of the 1980s saw tremendous growth. However, a growth control ordinance and new zoning districts passed in the 1990s has slowed development tremendously.

Londonderry is a vibrant town with beautiful neighborhoods, noted schools and a strong sense of community spirit. Londonderry offers the best of two worlds. It is a community that retains much of its rural character and charm while at the same providing its residents nearby shopping, entertainment, and restaurants. Interstate 93 and Manchester Airport are all easily accessible.

Atkinson is a very desirable small town. Winding lanes, fine homes and picturesque countryside adds to the overall appeal. This community has just over 6,200 residents.

Hampstead has a quiet ambiance that sets it apart. Quiet country lanes wind among ancient stone walls, antique colonials and lakes and ponds. Beautiful new subdivisions dot the countryside offering a great place to call home. Main street has one of the most distinctive collections of antique colonials to be found in Southern New Hampshire.

New Hampshire is known as having an excellent education system. Choosing a school system or private school that meets your child's individual needs can be a daunting task. The New Hampshire Department of Education web site is a great stepping off point in school selection. They have a helpful guide on how to select a school and they have profiles available of all of the school districts in the state.
